Frequently Asked Questions for California Remote Clients
Do you offer Zoom sessions for clients outside of San Diego County?
Yes. As a licensed psychologist based in Carlsbad, California, my license allows me to legally work with individuals and couples residing anywhere within the state of California. Whether you are in Northern California or the local Southern California area, you can access specialized therapy/counseling from the comfort of your home.
What styles of couples therapy do you offer via Zoom?
I specialize in highly effective modalities that transition beautifully to a virtual format, including Imago Relationship Therapy and Discernment Counseling (for couples where one partner is leaning out of the relationship and the other wants to save it). Zoom allows both partners to participate comfortably from the safety and privacy of their own home or office space.
Can online clients transition to an in-person 2-Day Intensive?
Absolutely. Many couples across California choose to start with weekly or bi-weekly Zoom sessions and later schedule a private, multi-day Private Marriage Intensives at my Carlsbad location to fast-track their progress. Or, you may wish to begin with the Intensive and transition to Zoom sessions. I also offer fully virtual 2-day intensives over Zoom if travel is not an option for you.
Are Zoom sessions different from in-person sessions?
The short answer to this is no. I do very much the same work whether it is in person or on Zoom. Of course, some people prefer to meet with a therapist in person, but many find the convenience of Zoom sessions to be very desirable. And people are often surprised at the sense of connection with the therapist that does occur even over Zoom. The most important thing is that you are in the same room with your partner, more so than being with the therapist.
