Getting The Love You Want: Couples’ Workshops/Marriage Retreat
This workshop was developed by Harville Hendrix, Ph.D., and is based on his best-selling book by the same name. It has been attended by hundreds of thousands of couples around the country, and around the world. This intensive, week-end workshop will help you deepen your intimate connection, and provide you with practical skills to enhance your relationship. The format is a combination of lectures, written exercises, demonstrations, and partners’ dialogue and communication processes. While couples are invited to share with the group, the workshop emphasizes partners sharing privately with each other. Confidentiality is emphasized in order to maintain a safe and comfortable environment.
Ben has been leading these Workshops since 2002, and has presented over 100 workshops in the Boulder area, as well as nationally and internationally, with over 1,000 couples participating.
This Workshop is designed to help any couple, whether you are deep in the “power struggle” or simply wanting to improve an already satisfying relationship.
The workshop is appropriate for you if:
You are beginning a relationship, and would like to create a strong foundation and avoid some of the frustrations you may have experienced in the past.

You Will Learn How To:
Develop effective new communication skills, using the “Couples Dialogue” process.
Resolve longstanding conflicts with compassion and ease
Use mindfulness and intention to experience a deep level of empathy, connection, and safety with your partner.
Understand the Stages of Relationship, Attachment Patterns, Neuroscience of Relationships, and much more.
Recreate the passion, attraction, and intimacy that brought you together at the start.
Identify core negative patterns in your relationship, and learn how to transform conflict into opportunities for compassion, forgiveness, healing and growth.
Experience a deep level of empathy and connection with your partner.

One of my passions is integrating Eastern/Buddhist practices with Western science and psychology. In this retreat, we dive deeply into these practices. In addition, we focus on enhancing your intimate/sexual relationship, thus bringing together the heart, body, mind, and spirit. Consider joining us for this heart-opening event:
Cultivating Peace, Love, and Passion In Your Intimate Relationship: Couples’ Retreat
Do you long for a deeper sense of connection, intimacy, and sensuality with your partner? Join us as we draw from teachers of both East and West to explore how psychology, neuroscience, Buddhism, and other spiritual traditions illuminate the profound connections between our emotional, spiritual, and physical selves. You’ll practice the art of “Deep Listening and Loving Speech,” as taught by Thich Nhat Hanh, along with other practical skills to deepen empathy, foster understanding, and transform conflict into opportunities for growth and healing. By bringing mindfulness into the bedroom, you’ll also learn to enrich your sexual connection and cultivate lifelong romance. This promises to be a joyful, healing, and stimulating weekend—not to be missed!
* Practice breath and meditation techniques to create the space for love to flourish.Discuss the 4 elements of true love: joy, compassion, loving kindness, and equanimity. * * * * Practice deep listening and loving speech.
Gain insights from Western psychology, neuroscience, and ancient spiritual traditions that inform us about how to shift from reactivity to calm, peaceful interactions.
Experience the RAIN process—a Buddhist-based practice that helps you to explore your feelings and emotions in a manner that leads to deep acceptance and understanding.
Practice the Beginning Anew process—a Buddhist-based practice that facilitates healing past wounds with your partner, and creates peace and joy in your relationship.
Immerse yourselves in practices that foster accepting, and being fully accepted by, your partner.
Create rituals to bring excitement, intimacy, and sensuality into your daily life.
Explore giving and receiving sensual touch (g-rated in workshop; anything goes at home); and how to ask for and receive the sex and sensuality you really want.
Learn how to create and maintain lifelong romance (hint: you need a plan).
The work we do in this retreat is experiential, focused on skills and actionable practices to take home with you. Most of your sharing is with your partner; the group structure provides an additional level of support and connection. No experience in Mindfulness Meditation, Buddhist practices, or breathwork is required, just bring an open mind and a willingness to explore.
